DESCRIPTION:Join the Institute for Workforce Excellence for an informative virtual conversation with the U.S. Department of Labor – Wage and Hour Division focused on youth employment\, with a special emphasis on expanding and strengthening work‑based learning opportunities. \nLacey Houle\, representing the Department of Labor – Wage & Hour Division\, will share insights on national priorities\, best practices\, and emerging trends that support young people in gaining valuable skills and pathways to meaningful careers. Participants will have the opportunity to learn\, ask questions\, and explore strategies that can be applied in their own communities and programs. \nThis session is ideal for workforce professionals\, employers\, educators\, community organizations\, and partners committed to improving youth employment outcomes and expanding access to high‑quality work-based learning experiences. \nRegister here. \nLacey Houle has been with the U.S. Department of Labor’s Wage & Hour Division since 2016. She spent over 5 years as an investigator\, investigating hundreds of cases under several laws including the Fair Labor Standards Act\, the Family Medical Leave Act\, H-2A Visa Program\, Section 14(c)\, McNamara-O’Hara Service Contract Act\, and Davis Bacon. \nLacey now serves as the Community Outreach & Resource Planning Specialist in Wage and Hour’s Indianapolis District Office. In that capacity\, Lacey spends most of her time organizing and conducting Wage and Hour educational and training events throughout the state of Indiana to employer associations\, worker advocacy groups\, schools\, and workers.
